Anne Jo Greene Sampson, 83, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon, S.C. She was born in Robeson County March 1, 1933 to the late Hector and Docia Stephens. She was preceded in death by her former spouse, Neil R. Greene; and her brother, William Elliott “Jiggs” Stephens.
She will be long-remembered as a great friend, a loyal supporter and a wonderful Christian. Her love for family and friends was only surpassed by her love of the Lord, our Savior, as she was an active, long-time member of Mt. Elim Baptist Church.
Anne held a lengthy career of more than 2o years as co-owner of Asher-Green Ladies Shop and then owner of Anne Greene Dress Shop. More recently she was a devoted caretaker of Mrs. Linda Price.
A time of visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m.  Monday, July 18 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 at Mt. Elim Baptist Church, 645 Creek Road, Orrum, with Rev. James Graham officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, William Sampson; two daughters, Deborah Sampson and Donna Daniels Wade and husband, Scott; two grandchildren, Brandon Wade and wife, Barbara, and Chris Gallant; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Annette Stephens Benton and husband, Bill; niece, Suzanne Stephens Fair; nephew, William Stephens; several other special nieces and nephews; and special longtime friends Jean Dale and Gerald Britt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina, Inc., P.O. Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, N.C.  28450.
