Mr. Bennie Sellers, 73, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021, at the Lower Cape Fear Lifecare. He was born Oct. 30, 1947, in Columbus County, the son of the late Robert and Emma Ruth Sellers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edgar Sellers; and a sister-in-law, Margie Sellers.
Bennie formerly farmed and was well known for growing peanuts. He also formerly owned and operated Waccawaw Auto Parts in Lake Wacccamaw for 18 years and formerly owned One Stop Service Center in Brunswick. More recently he owned and operated Sellers Auto Sales.
His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church with Revs. Donald Conway and Roger Coffey officiating. Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to his service at the church. Burial will be in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Christine Thompson Sellers; two brothers, Norman Sellers Sr. and Jerry Sellers and wife, Marie, both of Whiteville; two sisters, Veda Merle Bridgers and husband, David, of Brunswick, Naomi Sperling and husband, William, of Lincolnton; and many nieces and nephews.
