C.O. Lewis Jr., 68, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. He was born in New Hanover County, Nov. 3, 1949, the son of the late Clifton Othello Lewis Sr. and Margaret Smith Lewis.
He worked with Federal Paper for more than 33 years.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Livingston Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 at Livingston Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. with Pastors Matthew Griffin and Patsy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. McKenzie Mortuary of Whiteville is handling the arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Eric and Elvin Ray Mintz, Jerry Little, Kevin Long, Jimmy Ham and Jeff Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Alfred Bridgers, William “Duck” Cook, Bobby Ellis, Tom Hilburn, Paul Todd, Brian Beaver, Bob Moore and Rick Trump.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Marilyn Long Lewis of Delco; two daughters, Denise Lewis and Heather L. Robertson, both of Delco; one son, Jeremy Lewis of Delco; one brother, James Martin Lewis of Delco; and 10 grandchildren.
