Carolyn Creech Wayne, 82, went to her heavenly home Friday, July 1, 2022. She was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Columbus County, to the late Howard and Eva Powell Creech. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wayne; her infant child, Christy Wayne; her sister, Melanie Creech; and her infant grandchildren, Hunter Wayne and Chansley Wayne.
Carolyn was a lifelong member of White Marsh Baptist Church, where she played piano for more than 60 years as well as the organ for a number of years. She graduated from Hallsboro High School and received a degree from Miller Motte Technical College. She retired from Southeastern Community College.
Her visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Peacock Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at White Marsh Baptist Church with Rev. Titus Caraway officiating. Burial will be in the Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Revonda Wayne of Whiteville; her sons, Kevin Wayne and his wife, Melanie, of Lake Waccamaw and Eric Wayne of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Jessica Wayne Lewis and her husband, Matthew, of Hallsboro, Kasey Faulk of Jacksonville, Forrest Wayne and his wife, Blair, and Kirklyn Wayne Scott and her husband, Alex, both of Lake Waccamaw; her great-grandchildren, Kylie, Sara, Sammie, Max, Andrew, Jase, Gavin, Aidalyn and Ellie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to White Marsh Baptist Church.
