Christine Singletary Potter, 92, died Monday, July 26, 2021. She was born Feb. 9, 1929, in Clarkton, the daughter of the late Walter Singletary and Augusta Faircloth Singletary and the stepdaughter of the late Annie B. Singletary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Potter Jr. (W.M.); two brothers, W.P. and Horace Singletary; two sisters, Marie S. Goode and Ann B Jenrette; and a great-grandchild, Forrest Johnson.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at Riegelwood Baptist Church with Revs. Larry Knowles and Michael Jackson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Andrews Mortuary of Wilmington is serving the family.
Pallbearers will be Robin Potter, Cory Potter, Greg Potter, Bucky Hinson, Jon Jenrette and Brandon Parks.
Christine is survived by her three children, Greg Potter (Vickie) of Oak Island, Billy Potter (Glenda) of Riegelwood and Susan Woodlief of Charleston, S.C.; five grandchildren, Greg Potter, Holly Potter, Robin Potter (Lisa), Cory Potter (Donna) and Leigh Hinson (Bucky); six great-grandchildren, Sydney Potter, Emma Potter, Maddox Potter, Gigi Hinson, Hudson Potter, Lillie Gifford; her loving sister-in-law, Barbara Mallard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Christine’s memory may be made to the Riegelwood Baptist Church Building Fund or to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
