Clara Gibson Ward


Clara Gibson Ward, 65, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, S.C. Born Dec. 13, 1951 in Sumter, S.C., she was the daughter of the late James S. Gibson Sr. and Myrtle Billups Gibson and the widow of Gary Lynn Ward.

Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Nakina Pentecostal Holiness Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 22 one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor Cityis handling the arrangements.

She is survived by three daughters, Emily Arledge of Whiteville, Stephanie Jennings of Nakina, Roxanne Brinson of Blythewood, S.C.; one son, Casey Brinson of Chadbourn; two brothers, Jack Gibson of Sumter, S.C., Jim Gibson of Beaufort, S.C.; three sisters, Kathy Murdock of Manning, S.C., Marie Beaver of Charleston, W.V., Elaine Secriest of Winona, W.V.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
