David Michael Watts, 72, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. He was the son of the late Jessie Rayna Booth Watts and Golda Quincey Watts. He was also preceded in death by seven siblings, Kathy Norris, Clio Watts, Grover Watts, Sam Watts, Christine Norris, Earline Norris and Helen Jefferies.
He honorably served his country in the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army.

Final rites will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn with Rev. Leroy A. Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. (one hour prior to the service) Friday, Feb. 23 at the funeral home.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane W. Smith of the home; one daughter, Judy Watts Jordan and her husband, Brian, of Willow Springs; five step-children; siblings, Syba Gibson of Callihan, Fla., Betty Jo Norris of Whiteville and Jerry Watts of Lexington; one granddaughter, Jenna Jordan O’Neal and her husband, David, of Falcon; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, daddy, papa and a special uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-9959.
