Davy Floyd Bullard, 37, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was preceded in death by his sister, Tiffany Bullard.
He was employed as a captain at the Robeson Correctional Center in Lumberton and prior at Brunswick Corrections Department in Whiteville and Tabor Correctional Institution in Tabor City. He also served as an instructor/trainer for the N.C. Department of Corrections.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. Final rites will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10 at the funeral home with Revs. Coy Long, Dean Jackson and Rodney Evers officiating. Interment will be in the Fields Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Brooke Simmons Bullard of the home; four children, Lexi Bullard, Zander Bullard, Dalton Bullard and Madison Bullard, all of the home; his parents, Judy T. and David Henry Bullard Jr. of Evergreen; one brother, Jonathan Bullard of Evergreen; and grandmother, Betty T. Shepherd.
