Diana Cartrette Gray

Diana Cartrette Gray, 63, died Saturday May 28, 2016 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Diana was born in Columbus County Dec. 28, 1952 and was the daughter of the late Dewey Lee Cartrette and Alene Duncan Cartrette. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Cathy Sue Cartrette.

She retired from Burns Security and also was a tele communicator with Oak Island and Southport Police departments. She was a member of New Creations Worship Center of Boiling Spring Lakes.

A celebration of Life Service was held Monday May 30 at New Creations Worship Center, 3127 George II Hwy., Boiling Spring Lakes with Pastor David Mammay officiating. Peacock, Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service, Southport handled the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jerry D. Gray; one son, Brannon Gray of Bolivia; two brothers, Gary Lee Cartrette and Michael Cartrette, both of Chadbourn.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Diana’s name be directed to New Creations Worship Center, Coastline Volunteer Rescue Squad or Sunset Harbor-Zion Hill Fire Department.

The family would like to also thank Brunswick County EMS for their excellent service and care provided during Diana’s illness.
