Donald Carol Stewart, 78, went to be with his Lord Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Emma Jane Godwin Stewart and Johnnie Franklin Stewart. He was also preceded in death by four siblings, Mitchell Gray Stewart, Morris Wayne Stewart, Annie Pearl Stewart and Sandra Bailey.
He was employed as a supervisor by Dickerson Construction and Apex Construction for a total of 33 years.
The family received friends Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church. Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15 at Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Donald Conway and Rev. Jim Skinner officiating. Interment will be in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn is serving the family.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of 56 years, Janice Faye Ivey Stewart of the home; one daughter, Wanda Carol Stewart McCulloch (David F.) of Lakeland, Ga.; one sister, Sylvia Pinyan (Curtis) of Chadbourn; two grandchildren, Karen Palmer (Michael) and Laura McCulloch Croft (Danial); and three great-grandchildren, MaKenzlee Palmer, Harlynn Palmer and Halleigh Croft.
