Donald Lee High, 81, died Monday, May 31, 2021, at his residence. Donald was born Nov. 11, 1939, in Columbus County, to the late Waldon High and Beulah Brown High.
He worked for 28 years in sales with Lance Inc. He was a member of the Lebanon Masonic Lodge and a member of Western Prong Baptist Church.
Donald’s funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Western Prong Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7–8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at McKenzie Mortuary.
Pallbearers will be Robert Carl Brown III, Christopher Shane Miller, Henry Willis Nance Jr. Calvin Leon Turner Jr., Francis Neal Turner and Ashley Thurman Wallace.
Donald is survived by his son, John Alan High (Elizabeth) of Whiteville, three granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth “Molly” High of Breckenridge, Colo., Margaret Worth “Maggie” High and Grace Alan High, both of Whiteville; one sister, Brenda H. Wallace (Willie) of Delco; one niece, Pamela Miller (Shane); and one nephew, Ashley Wallace.
