Doris Elizabeth Freeman Wilson, 72, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15 at Gospel Harvest Church of God in Christ, 150 South Blacksmith Road with Elder Shawn Maynor officiating. Burial will be in Restwell Cemetery #1. Viewing will be held from noon-7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville and Sunday, Jan. 15 one hour prior to and following the service at the church. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 in the funeral home chapel.
Surviving are her husband, Booker T. Wilson Jr.; four daughters, Samantha Jacobs of Leland, Maretta Greene and Monique Wilson, both of Bolton and Melinda Welborne of Greensboro; one stepdaughter, Michelle Young of Wilmington; and three sisters, Marva Wicker and Etta Best, both of Whiteville and Minnie Powell of Hallsboro.
