Eleanor Pope Nye

Eleanor Pope Nye, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017. She was born in New Hanover County, Sept. 21, 1935 the daughter of the late William Howard Pope and Annie Dowling Pope. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Cliff Pope, Jimmy Pope and Marvin Pope.
She graduated from Hallsboro High School and the Robeson County School of Nursing. She was employed by Columbus County Hospital as a nursing superior until she retired.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Easterling of Latta, S.C. and Jenny Lacks of Beulahville; two sisters, Carolyn Pierce of Hallsboro and Joyce King of Ash; one brother, Howard Pope of Hallsboro; and four grandchildren.
Donations may be made to Hallsboro Baptist and Latta Presbyterian churches.
