Rev. Ernest Alton Cribb Jr., 78, a native of Chadbourn, went to be with his Lord Sunday, June 11, 2017 at McLeod-Loris Hospital in Loris, S.C.
He was the son of the late Leona Marie Nobles and Ernest Alton Cribb Sr. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Cribb Nobles.
He was a devoted Christian who led many people to accepting the Lord as their personal savior for more than 35 years ministering at Grace Baptist Church in Georgetown, S.C., Cain Branch Baptist Church in Loris, S.C. and at Glendale Baptist Church in Florence, S.C. for the last 20 years of his ministry.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, June 14 at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn with final rites following at 3 p.m. in the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mack Hudson officiating. Interment will be in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Ann Strickland Cribb of the home; one son, Alton Cribb Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Georgetown, S.C.; one daughter, Cynthia C. Holmes and her husband, Jackie, of Brandon, Fla.; one sister, Alice Faye Turner of Leesburg, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jack Christopher Holmes, John Craig Holmes, Nicholas Cribb and Kendall Hayes; and five great-grandchildren.
