Ervin Elbert “Bud” Gore, 82, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Columbus Regional Healthcare with his family by his side. He was born June 13, 1939, in Columbus County, to the late Elbert R. Gore and Rowena Clemmons Gore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Helen Love Gore; a brother, Ricky Badger Gore; and a sister, Wanda Kay Ward.
After 30 years, Bud retired from Columbus County Schools Maintenance Department in Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Service. He also worked for Whiteville City Schools and his own air conditioning and refrigeration business throughout Columbus County. He enjoyed training dogs and coon hunting. He was owner of Hickory Hill Treeing Walkers and Bear Branch Beagles. Bud was a member at Old Dock United Methodist Church.
His funeral service was held Monday, June 13, at Old Dock United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Sides officiating. The family received friends prior to the service. Burial was in the church cemetery. McKenzie Mortuary, 112 Jefferson St. served the Gore family.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Terry Gore (Ricky) of Nakina and Jackie Madden (Charles) of Lumberton; a son, Ian Coleman (Jerri) of Whiteville; four brothers, Preston Gore (Kathy), Tommy Gore (Carolyn), Danny Gore (Diane) and Craig Gore (Ann); two sisters, Virginia FormyDuval (Lanny) and Elsie Faulk; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
