Ervin Jonathan Duncan, 67, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Elmo and Essie Benton Duncan and was also preceded in death by five siblings, Joe Duncan, Cecil Duncan, Sammy Duncan, Louise Pridgen and Lettie Mae Pinyan.
He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
Final rites will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23 at Worthington Funeral Home with interment following in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev Russel Long officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. (one hour prior) Saturday, July 23 at the funeral home in Chadbourn.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Peggy Dianne Hinson Duncan of the home; two daughters, Angela D. Horne (Byron) and Wendy D. Sellers (Neil), all of Whiteville;  three brothers, Wesley Duncan of Little Washington, Philip Duncan and Hester Duncan, both of Whiteville; one sister, Olene D. Garrell of Clarendon; eight grandchildren, Anthony Moody, Sarah Moody, Jesse Horne, Victoria Horne, Elizabeth Horne, Keith Horne, Lani Sellers and Bailey Sellers; one great-granddaughter, Emma Kate Moody.
