Frances Pauline Melton Blackburn, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center. She was born June 27, 1938, in Darlington, S.C., the daughter of the late Eddie Melton and Mahaley Boykin Melton. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, by two grandchildren, Stacy Renee Jones and Shawn William Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at McKenzie Mortuary. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 at Flynn Cemetery in Whitevile with Rev. Wallyce Todd officiating.
Surviving are two sons, Carl Jones of Statesboro, Ga., and Joel Jones (Lucy) of Whiteville; three daughters, Ann Becker (Frank) of Whiteville, Sandra Thompson of Chadbourn and Janice Cribb of Lake City, Fla.; one sister, Mabelle Thomas of Darlington, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
