Franklin Leroy Boone, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at his home.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, in the Peoples Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Maria Lacewell officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Tabor Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife, Earnestine Ford Boone; two daughters, Frankye Newkirk (Cleo) of Cerro Gordo and Trina C. Boone-Brown (Sarita) of Greenville; one son, Dedric Powell (Cherice) of Pittsboro; three sisters, Blondell Junious of Hallsboro, Brenda Johnson of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Betty F. Foster (Clarence) of Zuni, VAa.; and two brothers, Robert Boone of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Harold Boone (Sharon) of Whiteville.
