Freddie Arnold Turbeville, 72, passed away suddenly Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Conway Medical Center. He was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Mullins, S.C., to the late Shelton Turbeville and Lois Watts Turbeville.
Although Freddie resided in Conway, S.C., he was raised in Fair Bluff. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen (Susie) Turbeville; and two sisters, Donna Ruth Turbeville and Wanda Turbeville Tedder.
Freddie was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend to all.
He enlisted in the Army June 18, 1970, but received an honorable discharge July 23, 1970. He had multiple jobs in his life, but his love was welding. He spent the last 46 years welding and was the owner of Fred’s welding.
Freddie’s love for children led him to umpire baseball for 29 years as well as becoming a Shriner. He took great pride in his work as a Shriner and loved every minute of it. He loved going to church and serving the Lord and he taught Sunday school for many years.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday July 23, at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn Visitation will be held from 4–5 p.m. prior to the memorial service
Mr. Turbeville is survived by one niece, Penny Long Grainger (Jimmy); and many cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
