Hasket Julious Godwin, 81, went to be with his Lord Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017 at his residence.
He was the son of the late William Ellery and Doretha Powell Godwin and the husband of the late Alene Cribb Godwin. He was also preceded in death by two siblings, Rev. Hughet Godwin and Beatrice Godwin Gaye; and a granddaughter, Amber Babson.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16 at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17 at the funeral home with Revs. Tim Moore and Jeff Stocks officiating. Interment will be in Gowan Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Keith Godwin and his wife, Donna, of Cerro Gordo; one daughter, Rhonda G. Babson and her husband, David Earl, of Cerro Gordo; two siblings, Edith Godwin Green and Brady Godwin, both of Cerro Gordo; three grandchildren, Brett Godwin, Brittany Smith and Amanda Everette; and six great-grandchildren, Will, Kenly, Kalli, Lakelyn, Aubrey and Holden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, N.C. 28472.
