Henry Grady Lennon Jr., 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018 at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville. He was born Dec. 22, 1936 in Columbus County, the son of the late Henry Grady Lennon Sr. and Lalan Tart Lennon. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Eva Squires and Mary Long.
He served in the U.S. Navy and retired after 40 years as Chief Engineer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at Peacock Funeral Home in Whiteville.
He is survived by his wife, Johnsie Cooke Lennon; one daughter, Monica Lennon Worley of Clarkton; one son, Joey Lennon of Clarkton; six sisters, Melba Williams of Shallotte, Rachel Roeda of Raleigh, Rebecca Parrent of Cornwallvile, NY, Carol Garrell and Sally Little, both of Charlotte, Margaret Register of Lugoff, S.C.; and four grandchildren.
