Hilda Gray Ward Marlowe, 82, formerly of Leland, passed Tuesday, May 7, 2016 at Hospice of Union County.
She was the daughter of the late Willie Lee and Lonie Nobles Ward and the widow of James Robert Marlowe. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Ann Jernigan McKeel; and siblings, Benjamin Brooks Ward, Herman Ward, Clyde Godwin, Gladys “Pet” Powell, Pauline Hardee and Curtis Ward.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Cape Fear Chapter #346.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday, June 10 at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 10 in the Wards Station Church of God Cemetery with Rev. Merle Johnson officiating.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two grandchildren, Nick Dawson and his wife, Beth, of Charlotte and Kandle Rogers and her husband, Tommy, of Whiteville; and three great-grandchildren, Owen Dawson, Shay Rogers and Bella Gray Rogers.
