Jackie Watts, 66, went to be with his Lord Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Columbus Regional Healthcare.
He was the son of the late Jake and Pauline Suggs Watts and was also preceded in death by two siblings, Rex Watts and Gary Suggs.
Jackie retired with 32 years of service with the North Carolina Forest Service as a heavy equipment operator. Jackie loved his family and friends and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved antique cars and trucks and spending his spare time in the shop where he would tinker and mechanic work for his friends, family and neighbors. Jackie truly loved spending his mornings taking his grandchildren to school and in the evenings picking them up and then taking them to ball practice and watching all of their ball games. Our daddy was truly loved by his family and friends.
Final rites will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14 at Worthington Funeral Home with Revs. Buddy Seay, Eddie Carter and Donny Jernigan officiating. Interment will be in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 13 at the funeral home in Chadbourn.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Leola W. Watts of the home; three children, Lisa Rose Gore (Jerry), Michael Jackie Watts (Tracey) and Mary Leanna Godwin (Wendell) all of Whiteville; one sister, Brenda Watts Snell of Tabor City; and eight grandchildren, Michael Luke Watts, Carter Tate Watts, Kelsie Rae Watts, Wendell Nate Godwin, Jase Matthew Gore, William Harrelson, Cheyene Harrelson and Winter Lewis.
