Mr. James Marvin Evans, 76, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at Lower Cape Fear Life-Care in Whiteville. He was born Feb. 9, 1944, in Columbus County, the son of the late James Curby Evans and Bertha Reba Simmons Evans. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ward Evans in 1986; and a sister, Hilda Pierce.
Mr. Evans retired from International Paper.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, in the Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with entombment in Columbus Memorial Park Mausoleum.
He is survived by one son, James Corey Evans of Nakina; one daughter, Myra Renee Evans of Garner; and a grandson, Dustin Ryan Evans.
