Jayden Shyheim Warren Carroll

PFC Jayden Shyheim Warren Carroll, 18, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, in Tacoma, Wash. He was the son of Tawana Gaffney of Wilmington and Norman Carroll of Orlando, Fla.

He was a soldier serving in the U.S. Army.

A walk-through viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14 in the Peoples Funeral Home Chapel in Whiteville. A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Cherry Grove Cemetery, 660 Vinson Boulevard, Whiteville, with Pastor Michael Moore officiating. Services will be live on Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville’s Facebook page.

In addition to his parents, Jayden is survived by two sisters, Janice Benson of Charleston, S.C. and Moika Carroll of Cambridge, Mass.; one brother, Tyree Lewis of Snellville, Ga.; maternal grandmother, Janice Johnson (Jonathan) of Wilmington; paternal grandfather, Alfred Carroll of Cambridge, Mass.
