Rose Jean Paul Blackmon, 77, passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017 at her home.
Born Oct. 9, 1939 in Robeson County, she was the daughter of the late Thamer Bate Paul and Pearl Herring Paul. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan Renee; one grandson; Justin Worley; and sister, Helen Grace Taylor.
She was a member of Brunswick Baptist Church. She was a registered nurse at Columbus County Hospital where she took care of countless children until her retirement in 2006.
Final rites will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 at Peacock Funeral Home with Rev. Merle Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held Wedensday, Aug. 30 one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Hinson and Lynn Worley and husband, Edmond, of Tabor City; one brother, Marvin Paul and wife, Linda, of Lumberton; five grandchildren, Trista Bullock, Adam Hinson, Daniel Worley, Pat Worley and Alison Worley; eight great-grandchildren, Harley Rose Hinson, Loren Hinson, Colton Hinson, Kenny Tompkins, Emma Worley, Abby Worley, Ava Jean Bullock, and Justin Alexander “Xander” Worley. She is also survived by special friends, Jimmy Dale and Linda Dew and Clara McPherson.
