Jimmy Edward Brown, 78, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 26, 2016.

Jimmy was the youngest son of the late Woodrow Wilson Brown and Marie Macon Brown. Throughout his life Jimmy excelled at whatever he put his hands to, a successful tobacco farmer, logger, timber buyer, tree farmer, and contractor.

He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.

Visitation was held Saturday, May 28 at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. Final rites were held Sunday, May 29 at Evergreen Baptist Church with Revs. Scott Gore and Ricky Donaldson officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Linda Scott Brown; two daughters, Lynn Brown-Bulloch (and husband, Gary) of Florence, S.C. and Paula Brown of Southern Pines; one son, Jimmy Alan Brown (and wife, Amanda) of Shallotte; one brother, Wilton Brown (and wife, Betty Jo) of Lumberton; one sister, Lorraine Dennis of Mooreswville; and his grandchildren, Bradley Smith (and wife, Brittney) of Mullins, S.C., Jonathan Smith (deceased), Lauren Freeman (and husband, Cody), Hunter Bulloch of Florence, S.C., Tyler Brown, Hunter Brown and Lauren Brown, all of Shallotte.
