John Earlin “Catfish“ Freeman



Mr. John Earlin “Catfish“ Freeman, 58, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at his home. He was born Nov. 8, 1957 in Robeson County the son of the late Joe H. and Lizzie L. Freeman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Darnell Freeman; and one sister, Lori Ann Freeman.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was employed with Southern Industrial Constructors.
The family will receive friends from 6:30–8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Peacock Funeral Home in Whiteville. His funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 at New Hope Baptist Church with Revs. Mike Jacobs, Don Carter and Howard Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Harry Freeman, Mike Graham, Jerry Bell, Travis Jacobs, Earlin Freeman and McArthur Jacobs.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Jacobs Freeman; one son, David Shannon Freeman and wife, Sharon, of Bladenboro; one daughter, Kayla Freeman Jacobs and husband, Denane, of Bolton; three brothers, Ervin Freeman, Eddie Freeman and wife, Jackie L., Ray Freeman and wife, Donna, all of Bolton; one sister, Ethel F. Graham and husband, Clarence, of Bolton; one sister-in-law, Jackie R. Freeman of Bolton; and five grandchildren, Shawn, Justin, Rebecca, Austin and Renee.
