John Olan ‘Johnny Blaze’ Burr Sr.

Mr. John Olan “Johnny Blaze” Burr Sr., 40, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at his home. Born Oct. 5, 1976 in Camden, S.C., he was the son of William B. Burr of Blackshear, Ga. and Grace Camille Burney of Whiteville. He was predeceased by grandparents William J. and Elsie Williams Burr.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Inman Ward Funeral Home in Tabor City. Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, Chadbourn.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Debra Cartrette Burr of the home; three sons, Justin Cade Hinson, John Olan Burr Jr., Ethan Burr, all of the home; four brothers,  Matthew Burney, Marshall Vann Griffin, Jeremy Griffin, all of Whiteville, Dan “Buddy” Griffin of Indiana; three sisters, Janelle B. Tanner of Winnsboro, S.C., Victoria “Tori” Burr of Aiken, S.C., Nancy Griffin of Whiteville; and grandparents,  Gethro and Grace Batten Burney of Whiteville.
