Joseph Hollie Lee Spaulding, 53, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. He was the son of the late Jonathan Spaulding and Mary Pigford Spaulding.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 22 at Rehobeth AME Zion Church, 475 Rehobeth Church Road, Clarkton, with Rev. Harrison Branch officiating. Viewing will be held from noon-7 p.m. Friday, July 21 at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville and Saturday, July 22 following the service at the church. Burial will be in the Mitchell Field Cemetery.
Surviving are his daughter, Octavia Spaulding of Clarkton; three sisters, Alma Spaulding and Betty Smith, both of Whiteville and Irene Carter of Lake Waccamaw; and five brothers, Kenneth Spaulding of Wichita, Kan., Rudolph Spaulding and Foster Spaulding, both of Clarkton, David Spaulding of Nakina and Jonathan Spaulding of Chadbourn.
