Juanita Batten Miner, 69, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 at Highsmith Rainey Specialty Hospital in Fayetteville. She was born in Whiteville, Jan. 5, 1948 to the late Wilbert H. Batten Sr. and Anne Batten. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Lujuana Reynolds; and one sister, Jean Batten Hinson.
She worked in healthcare and retired as a registered nurse.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7 at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in Lumberton. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Mt Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, in Clarkton.
She is survived by Lynn “Wimpy” McDaniel, who she shared her life with for 25 years; three stepdaughters, Amy Barnes of Lumberton, Beth McDaniel of Lumberton and Cathy Miner of Atlanta; one stepson, Brian McDaniel of Idaho; three brothers, Joe Batten, Jerry Batten and Chris Batten, all of Whiteville; one sister, Sandra Godwin of Thurmond; and three grandchildren.
