Juanita Ward Nobles, 81, died Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehab Center in Whiteville. Born Sept. 26, 1940, in Horry County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late James Gurtha Ward and Lettie Johnson Ward.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, J.W. Nobles and Major Fowler; one daughter, Pamela Kay Nobles; five brothers, Carl Ward, James Ward, Ralph Ward, Ernest Ward and Billy Ward; four sisters, Ruby Fowler, Mary Edwards, Ezeary Ward and Louise Bozeman; and one granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Gore.
Her funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Debra Gore (Steve Hickman) of Whiteville; two brothers, Elroy Ward (Sara) of Green Sea, S.C. and Lonnie Ward (Hilda) of Tabor City; six grandchildren, Major Nobles, Alice Roberson, Mary Roberson and Emma Moore, all of Tabor City, Abigail Roberson Andres of Leland and Chase Gore of Whiteville; and eight great-grandchildren, Alan McPherson, Chris McPherson, Colt McPherson, Eli Porter, Landon Andres, Andrea Andres, Xavier Roberson and Bentley Nobles.
