WHITEVILLE — Lewis B. Thompson, 64, died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at his residence. He was the son of Rosalie Evans Thompson and the late Grady Lee Thompson and was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Brooke Thompson; and a son, Jason Gray Thompson.
He worked with Wilco-Hess for more than 10 years and worked as a manager with the Columbus County Solid Waste Division for more than 15 years.
Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 at McKenzie Mortuary. A funeral service will held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2 in the mortuary chapel with Rev. Heath Conner officiating. Burial will be in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Jane Smith Thompson of Whiteville; one daughter, Lindsey A. Thompson Cribb (Josh) of Cerro Gordo; his mother, Rosalie Evans Thompson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two brothers, Mike Thompson (Kathy) of Calabash, N.C. and Ben Thompson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Taylor Thompson, Cameron Cribb, Christian Cribb and Josie Cribb.
