Lillian Proctor Soles

Lillian Proctor Soles, 99, formerly of Whiteville passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at her residence with her family by her side. Lillian was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Columbus County, to the late James Everette Proctor and Letha Cartrette Proctor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Gordon Soles.
She first worked in farming for many years before going back to receive a degree at Southeastern Community College as a CNA. Lillian then worked at Columbus County Hospital until retirement. She loved working with ceramics and even taught classes in ceramics. Lillian was a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Whiteville.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Darryll Hester officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Flynn Cemetery.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, William Ray Soles (Abby) of N. Charleston, S.C.; two grandchildren, William Ray Soles Jr. and Benjamin Bryan Soles; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Soles, Benjamin Soles Jr. and Hazel Soles.
