Lola Dove Johnson, 80, died Friday, June 15, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was born July 17, 1937 to the late Ila and Gaston Dove. Lola was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Hazel Russ and JoAnn Baldwin.
After graduating from Bladenboro High School, she attended Kings Business School. On April 18, 1957, she married her high school sweetheart, Lyn Johnson. They were married for 61 years. Together they raised four daughters. She was employed with the Bladen County School System as an assistant teacher until her retirement in 1999.
A private burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18 followed by a visitation at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Bladenboro from 1:30-3 p.m. and a memorial service at 3 p.m. Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home of Elizabethtown is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Lyn Johnson of the home; four daughters, Tammy Lowrimore of Bladenboro, Joy Polzin and Paula Johnson, both of Cary, Laura Johnson of the home; two sisters, Joyce Ward of Clarkton, Linda Bordeaux of Virginia; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
