Lou Ellen Vereen, 94, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 at her residence.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Brunswick-Waccamaw Baptist Headquarters, 600 Pinelog Road, Whiteville, with Pastor Robert D. Williams officiating. Viewing will be held from noon-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16 at Peoples Funeral Home and Saturday, Feb. 17 one hour prior to and following the service at the headquarters. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery.
Surviving are five daughters, Dianne Castillo of the home, Frances Hernandez, Blondell Vereen and Evelyn Fulton, all of Whiteville and Shirley Lathan of Youngsville; one son, Joe Lee Vereen of Whiteville; and two sisters, Carrie Bell Weaver of Whiteville and Eva Mae Nealy of Clarendon.
