Loyd ‘Bob’ Cartret

Loyd “Bob” Cartret, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Whiteville. He was born Jan. 16, 1935 in Columbus County, the son of the late C.M. Cartret and Rebecca McPherson Cartret. He was also preceded in death by one son, Richy Loyd Cartret.
He was a pipe fitter and welder with Dupont in Leland for 27 years. He also farmed with his wife, Anne.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 3 at Peacock Funeral Home. His funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Donald Conway officiating. Burial will be in Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne Tyree Cartret; one son, Mickey Wayne Cartret of Chadbourn; one daughter, Melissa Cartret Nealey of Chadbourn; one brother, Carlton Cartrette of Whiteville; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
