Marilyn Jo Fipps, 76, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Whiteville. Born Oct. 4, 1940 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Numpy A. and Sessie Magnolia Fowler Fipps. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Ila V Fipps; and four brothers, Layton, Wade, Fred and Billy Fipps.
Visitation will be held, from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3 at Inman Ward Funeral Home in Tabor City. Final rites will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
She is survived by two sisters, Winetta Fipps Martin of Fuquay Varina, Frances “Patsy” Merritt of Tabor City; one brother, James Ted Fipps of Maryville, Tenn.
