Marjorie Ward Gore, 83, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 at her home. Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Lemon Paul Ward and Ruby Stephens Ward. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, L.P. Ward Jr.; and one sister, Doris Ward.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she served for many years as choir director, Sunday school director and a lay speaker.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Bethel United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 8 one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be in Bethel Memorial Cemetery, Clarendon. A service of Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel J. Gore of Clarendon; two daughters, Mary Gore Wilson of Clarendon, Dr. Rebecca A. Gore of Raleigh; and one grandson, Samuel Gore Wilson of Clarendon.
