Martin Luther “Chip” Malcolm



Martin Luther “Chip” Malcolm, 65, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at his home. He was born May 14, 1951 in Washington, D.C. to Willie and Nell Stone Malcolm. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church; a shooting instructor for Remington Arms; avid hunter, shooter, fisherman and NASCAR fan. He loved being a dad, a friend; being with his family and spending time outdoors.

Mr. Malcolm was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving in Vietnam.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 18 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Brown officiating. Miller Funeral Service, 180 Sparta Road, North Wilkesboro is handling the arrangements.

Surviving are his wife, Lynn Hamby Malcolm; two sons, Marshall Cheek-Grimstad and spouse, Michael, of New York, N.Y., Clark Pardue of Winston Salem; and one sister, Karen Neese and husband, Travis, of Raleigh.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and respect for the love of their friends.
