Mary Elizabeth Simpson, 92, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Whiteville. Born July 14, 1925 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Lester Williams and Flettie Morse Williams and the widow of James Benny Simpson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four sisters, Edith Prince, Dorothy Campbell, Lillian Prince, Marvelann Norris; and five brothers, Burleson Williams, Seth Williams, Hershel Williams, Hubert Williams and Paul Lester Williams.
She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church.
Final rites will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29 in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel in Tabor City. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29 one hour prior to the service in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the Fellowship Bible Baptist Church Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
