Michael Jerome Garris

Michael Jerome Garris, 63, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16 at Saint John Missionary Baptist Church, 888 Tommie Wooten Road with Rev. Darryl Hardie officiating. Cremation will follow. Viewing will be held from noon-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville.
Surviving are his wife, Eunice J. Garris; five daughters, Tawanna Hammby of Atlanta, Ga., Angela Thomas of Wilmington, Dianne Thomas and Shearka James, both of Whiteville and Tamika Lennon of Charlotte; three sons, Michael S. Garris of Charlotte, Demetrius McGirt of Whiteville and Jamal Lennon of St. Petersburg, Fla.; his mother, Lillie Ann Holmes of Wilmington; and two brothers, Peter Damon and Earl Damon, both of Wilmington.
