Norma Dixie Gore died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Whiteville. She was born May 9, 1941 to the late Sampson and Fannie Edwards in Columbus County. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bill Gore; one brother, Sammy Edwards; one sister, Nettie Morgan; and a son, Freddie Fowler.
Final rites will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5 at Fair Bluff Baptist Church with the family receiving friends prior to the service at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Powell Cemetery. Meares Funeral Home of Fair Bluff is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by one daughter, Debbie Long of Chadbourn; one son, Norman Fowler of Chapel Hill; one brother, Johnny Edwards of Chadbourn; and one sister, Martha Ray Hardee.
