Peggy Jean Howton Norris, 75, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at her home. Born Aug. 7, 1940 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., she was the daughter of the late J.D. Howton and Glenn Avis Skelton and the widow of Gene Clifton Norris Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 6 at Bolton United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 6 one hour prior to the service at the church. Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City is handling the arrangements.
She is survived by two sons Teddy Wedgeworth, William Wedgeworth, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one daughter, Marilyn Owen of Fall River, Mass.; two stepchildren, Gene Clifton Norris II of Hampstead, Kevin Norris of Tabor City,; two brothers, Thomas Howton, Kenneth Howton, both of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; four sisters, Glenda Killinger of Franklin, Pa., Patricia Christian of Birmingham, Ala., Theresa Olson of Smyrna, Tenn., Rhonda McGuff of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
