Plummer “June” B. Peacock, 82, peacefully passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center in Whiteville after battling a long illness.
He was the son of the late Winston and Arneice Jacobs Peacock. He was preceded in death by his son, Booker T. Peacock of Whiteville; and his daughter, Shalonda Peacock Smith of Whiteville.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was loving and caring to his family and friends. He enjoyed talking to people, going to the Farmers Union Store, the Clarkton Auction and to car sales.
Final rites will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 at Union Baptist Church on Old Northeast Road, Lake Waccamaw. Viewing will be held from 1-6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13 at Union Funeral Home in Clarkton. Burial will be in Peacock Cemetery, Jenkins Road, Whiteville.
He is survived by his loving, devoted and caring wife of 58 years, Lula Spaulding Peacock; his daughter, Valeria Peacock McKoy (Waymond) of Whiteville; one grandson, Cameron Peacock Smith of Garner; one sister, Carolyn P. King of Fayetteville; and two adopted daughters, Sharon Freeman of Clarkton and Kimberly Quattlebaum of Whiteville.
Family and friends may visit the family at 1999 Curn Spaulding Road.
