Col. Robert Jeff Hill, 54, went home to be with his Lord Friday, July 15, 2016 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nat Hill Jr. and Lynettee Todd; one sister, Debbie Hill Dillon; and his beloved grandparents, Fenner G. and Retha Kite.
Jeff was a lifelong resident of Vanceboro and spent his life hunting, fishing and farming on Maul Swamp Road. He worked in construction for various companies up and down the east coast until 2001. Jeff was the owner of J&J Auction and his daily passion was spending time with the Lord and in scripture.
Jeff is survived by one sister, Twyla Hodges and husband, George, of Clarendon; one stepbrother, Jeffrey Wayne Todd of Tabor City; two nephews, Kanon Hodges and Matthew Ray Dillon; one stepnephew, Chris Horst; and many cousins and devoted friends.
Final rites were conducted Wednesday, July 20 at Gospel Light Church. Smith Funeral Service & Crematory, 605 Country Club Drive, Greenville handled the arrangements.
