Mr. Rossie Ward, 80, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, July 17, 2018. He was born July 13, 1938 in Columbus County, the son of the late Lawson Ward and Golie Lee Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Greg Ward; his brother, R.J. Ward; and one sister, Mary “Mag” Gore.
He was formerly employed with Hill’s Grocery.
His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 19 in Peacock’s Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Jeff Barton and David Todd officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, July 19 prior to his service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Little Ward; one daughter, Renee Ward Blackmon and husband, Wesley, of Whiteville; one sister, Nancy Hardee of Elizabethtown; and four grandchildren, Rayce Blackmon and Jacob Miller, both of Whiteville, Sarah Ivey Ward and Lawson Ward, both of Evergreen.
