Sally Lucille Gore, 85, died Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center. She was born Jan. 10, 1933 in Brunswick County, the daughter of the late Randall McCumbee and Aleene Long McCumbee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Gore; parents; and a sister, Ernestine McCumbee Smith.
She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, a homemaker, and she spent most of her days working alongside her husband and children on the family farm.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20 at Bethesda United Methodist Church with Revs. Farron Duncan and Glenn Lane officiating. Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 19 at Peacock Funeral Home in Whiteville. Burial will be in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Gore, Ronald Gore, Rodney Smith, Ted Dorsch, Bob Dorsch and Brad Lewis.
She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Callahan of Nakina; three sons, Randy Gore of North Augusta, S.C., Dale Gore and Allen Gore, both of Nakina; sisters, Carolyn Harrison of Longwood; three grandchildren, two of Nakina and one of North Augusta, S.C.; and three great-grandchildren, all of Nakina.
