Shirley Allene Robinson, 82, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021. She was born Dec. 7, 1938, in Acme, to Daniel James Cook Jr. and Esther Bollinger Cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Emerson Cook.
Shirley enjoyed working in her yard, planting and growing flowers and tending to her many farm animals. She was a great cook, never having to follow recipes. Pink and Rose were her favorite colors. She enjoyed being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, in the Coble Funeral Chapel, 1155 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, with Pastor Kyle Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends at noon prior to the service. Burial will be in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Freddie Cook, Chris Cook, Star Cook, Matthew Creech, Grayson Powell and Kevin Horne.
She is survived by her children, Wayne Robinson of Bolton, Teresa Caffee of Leland, Jerry Robinson and wife, Patricia, of Whiteville and Renee Sullivan and husband, Ricky, of Winnabow; five siblings, James Alfred Cooke, Donald Ray Cook, Gracie Oosting, David Earl Cook, Gloria Haddock; four grandchildren, Megan Powell, Lauren Robinson, Morgan Sullivan and Madison Sullivan; four great-grandchildren, Marlee, Macelyn, Gunner and Grace; and her special caregivers, Keith Cheshire and Linda Hilbourn.
