Solomon Levi Porter, 80, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at McLeod Loris Hospital in Loris, S.C. surrounded by his family. Born in Horry County, S.C., he was the son of the late Lance Chandus Porter Sr. and Anna Thelma Cartrette Porter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Chandus Lance Porter Jr., Leo Porter and Wilbur J. Porter; and one sister, Anna Marie Porter Fowler.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
A private graveside service will be held in Myrtle Green Cemetery. Inman Ward Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Fowler Porter of the home; one son, Jeffrey Levi Porter and wife, Kathy, of Little River, S.C.; one daughter, LaCha Porter-Goff and husband, Kim, of Loris, S.C.; two grandchildren; Lance Porter of Charleston, S.C., Lauren Porter Rogers and husband, Keith, of Little River, S.C.; one nephew, Jody Lancaster of Little River, S.C.; one niece, Annadora Fowler of Little River, S.C.; and a special friend, Margie Tyler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Fresenius Kidney Care Center, 3827 Bell Street, Loris, S.C. 29569.
